The overall aim of this Youth Exchange is to gather young people who are sensitive to ecology and environmental issues to raise awareness on plastic waste within our everyday lives. Through the project activities and the development of a comic e-booklet that the participants will create during their participation to the Youth Exchange, the project aims to promote a sustainable way of living, generate and disseminate green lifestyle by exploring the role of creativity and art. The project seeks to inspire young people to interact with each other, share their experience, exchange their knowledge on the topic of the Exchange and explore creative ideas dealing with Eco issues. The project is based on non- formal learning, contains a set of activities which are innovative, non-formal and experiential. The results of the Youth Exchange are the creation of an e-booklet which will present comics depicting the waste of plastic within our everyday lives in a direct, funny and provocative way as well as a social media campaign. Thus, the project, through creative and artistic activities, aims to enhance the awareness of the participants while at the same time provide tools for raising concerns on the plastic waste in a wider audience. The young people participating to the project will develop their creative, digital, communication skills, will increase their critical thinking towards the challenges of the issue of the project while they will explore the use of social media and comics as tools to raise awareness and shift society mindsets on environmental issues.
All cost for accommodation, food, and activities will be covered by the organisers through the Erasmus Plus Programme.
The tickets will be booked by the participant (we would like to remind you that the flight tickets need to be economy class) and the ticket cost will be refunded to the participant as soon as they arrive back to their country and send to the organisers all the boarding passes. The participants should give the original tickets to the organisers. For travelling from Cyprus to Greece the maximum amount to be refunded is 275 euros.
The project activities will be held in Chania, Crete. The participants will be accommodated in the “Camping Chania”, where the activities will be held as well. All the participants will be accommodated in fully equipped bungalows that host 4 participants. Camping Chania is situated in a local beauty spot known as Ag. Apostoli. There are four small sandy beaches all within walking distance, the closest one being 100m away and the most far 300m away from the camping.
