Training on Street Art to spread Social Messages, Poland

“Activism explosion- street art as a tool for spreading social messages” will take place in the Leszno City in the Leszno poviat, Leszno commune, Greater Poland Voivodeship.

The subject of the workshops is the use of animations in public space; in particular animations in the type of flash mob, body expression, street art, street theatre, clowns; animations in which language is not a barrier in the message, animations emphasising socially important messages.

Animations will be presented as methods of non-formal education, work tools and as a tool for social inclusion in the context of work with charges, at risk of social exclusion, socially excluded (migrants, refugees, NEETs, people affected by poverty, socially inactive, poor socializing, not knowing the language or knowing it in a low degree).
The aim of the international workshops is to raise professional qualifications among the staff working with the youth, to create good practices, to internationalize education through the creation of cooperation. The goal is also to build a network of contacts and strengthen the potential of the staff in such a way that it creates in its organizations a professional and dynamic environment, working with young people through creative and effective animation methods. The staff will be able to respond to constantly changing needs, resulting from the current socio-political situation in Europe.

The specific objectives relating to raising the qualifications of the youth workers, applicant includes in addition: increased capacity to act in the public space, upgrading the skills of constructing such activity in which language is not a barrier to the message and increasing the capacities of reactionary action, cost-free and under time pressure.

The project promotes inclusive activities towards groups at risk of exclusion. It promotes social integration through non-formal education methods based on a variety of animation activities, thus supporting the key competences of lifelong learning, such as communication in mother tongue and foreign languages, social competences, cultural awareness, digital competence, initiative and entrepreneurship.

Participants during the workshop will organize a joint performance (flash mob) using body language/body expression during the Volunteer Day held in Leszno and a performance using street art methods that will be demonstrated during the birthday gala of the applicant at the State Higher Vocational School in Leszno.
After the implementation, the photo materials with an activity description will be used to create an exhibition in the Dworcowa Gallery of the Municipal Public Library.

– Be committed and motivated to actively attend the full duration of the project and the follow-up activities.
– members of NGOs working with young people (youth workers, group leaders, project managers involved in youth projects,

– medium-high level of English be over 18 years old/ no upper age limit

Cost: all cost is covered by the organisers through the Erasmus+ Programme.
Participants from Cyprus will get back up to 275 euros for their travel cost.
