MAIN THEME OF THE PROJECT

Entrepreneurship. Acquisition of competences (knowledge, skills and attitudes) to improve personal development and employability. Support of the professional development of those who work in the field of youth to improve the quality of youth work across Europe.

OBJECTIVES

  • To explore the role of youth work in supporting aspiring young entrepreneurs;
  • To map support structures for Entrepreneurship and the related actors, policies, programmes & financial schemes at national and European level;
  • To foster future cooperation between youth workers and other relevant stakeholders;
  • To share practices and methods for business creation;
  • To make it possible for Cypriot NGO to share the needs of their target– groups to inspire ideas for Social Entrepreneurship.

METHODOLOGY

This training activity was based on the Business Model Canvas, popular strategic management and entrepreneurial tool.  The participants also used online tools to create Landing Pages to showcase their business ideas.

All working activities aimed at fostering intercultural learning and exchange between participants from diverse backgrounds. The methodology included simulation games, role play, plenary debates, interactive lectures, audio-visual presentations, small and large group discussions, self- assessment and more. There were field visits to Cypriot NGO and a meeting with the Cyprus Commissioner for Volunteering and NGO.

With their participation, the trainers and the youth workers were enabled to support their organisations to tackle social problems, to multiply the impact of youth work and to raise the visibility of their work.
